MRC Trips

On Nov. 5th, students at the Mark Richardson Center participated in hands-on, real-world learning experiences, with the Plant and Soil Farming class exploring sustainable organic agriculture, and the Machining classes touring industry facilities to learn about high-demand career opportunities.

Attendees Launch 350 Pumpkins Towards Mountainside in Thrilling Community Event

Four months of diligent cultivation by dedicated Santa Maria Joint Union High School District (SMJUHSD) agriculture students culminated in an explosive display of seasonal fun at Element Church's annual pumpkin event. The harvest — a massive haul of over 900 pumpkins — fueled a day of festive creation and high-energy excitement, all for the sake of community engagement.

Pioneer Valley FFA Members Shine on the National Stage at the 98th National FFA Convention

Eleven members of the Pioneer Valley FFA Chapter proudly represented California at the 98th National FFA Convention & Expo in Indianapolis, Indiana, October 25 – November 1, 2025. The convention—one of the world’s largest student gatherings—brings together more than 75,000 FFA members, advisors, and industry leaders from across all 50 states, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands to celebrate achievement and leadership in agricultural education.
