Incoming SMHS freshman and other students received a glimpse of what being a student athlete is all about during Future Saint Night on May 4.
The event started at 6 p.m. inside the Wilson Gym. It was designed to provide the community, especially the incoming freshman, with information about sports teams. Topics included physical night, eligibility requirements, summer programs and calendars. There was also a meet and greet with the athletic administration, athletic director, and all head coaches.
“The Santa Maria High School Athletic Program is an extension of the classroom,’’ said Saint Athletic Director Dan Ellington. “The school works together to provide the student athlete a well-rounded education.’’
