Alternative Education

Delta High School is a continuation high school that serves students in grades 10-12. As a continuation high school, Delta is designed for students who are behind in credits and at risk of not graduating from a comprehensive high school.

Home and Hospital Instruction is for students who incur a temporary disability, which makes attendance in the regular day classes or alternative education program impossible or inadvisable. Instruction may take place in the student's home, in a hospital, or other residential health facility. A temporary disability is defined as a physical, mental, or emotional disability incurred while the student is enrolled in regular day classes or an alternative education program, after which the student can reasonably be expected to return to regular day classes or the alternative education program without special intervention.

Our Cal-SAFE program provides teen parents with child care, which allows them to complete their education. This program is free for parents who qualify. We provide friendly, healthy, and developmentally-appropriate environments for children and families to reach their full potential.  While participating in the Cal-SAFE program, teen parents are educated in stress management, child development, positive parenting, and more.  Our staff provides direct connection with community resources to support the needs of the entire family. Children participating in our programs receive nutrition services, health screenings, and social/emotional support.
